You tossed the box just for me, didn’t you?? 😂 I’m just kidding. Thank you ladies – I do silk wraps as artificial extensions (with nail forms), gel resin (non uv light) with bioset spray. Acrylic is too harsh and gel curing concerns me in the way of safety but there are many things you do that are similar. I’m not a nail pro but I’ve been attempting my own nails since the early 90s – was piss poor broke and saved all my money for nails 😉

Thanks for the info. As a non licensed nail person I'm glad some professional products are available for me to learn. The brushes from Sally beauty supply are bad but I can buy professional brushes from a company that sells to both professional and non professional alike.

I'd love to see you try out the new Apres Nail Gel-X system, Suzie! I've been seeing it on the instagram pages of other nail techs and I'm very curious as to if it works/holds up any better than dual forms and you give the best and most thorough reviews for professional products like that on youtube! If it really works well it could be amazing for doing my own nails and for clients who want faster service times without going straight to an express shop where their nails could get seriously damaged.

Im in my second semester of Esthetics now and you really fueled my passion to get into it! Manicure and pedicure are my favourite classes and I know you guys didn't really have advice for newbies but mine is be patient! You aren't going to just sit down and be able to do it right off the bat, it takes practice, just keep at it and you'll get it eventually!

I’m a diy, subbed to both of you and I like working with gel, my family shames me for how long it takes me but I’ve worked on it and how long the nails stay. I use the ibd bonder and gel from artisan and I always have lifts before I’m completely done 😂

How does one become a licensed nail technician?

I’m not a nail tech but I like to do my own nails…. I don’t use these products. I use a professional brush and Mia secret products. You can get almost anything on eBay.
